Whatever you called them as a kid, freeze pops, Otter Pops, freezie pops, they were a staple for most kids in the summer time.
Why should we have to give up all of the fun stuff just because we are adults? Well, I say, we don't and I am here to bring some #summertime childhood fun, (adult style), back into your life.
I read an article recently about Nostalgia, and this quote really stuck with me during this time of staying at home...
“In certain situations, nostalgia may lead to beneficial outcomes, such as increased levels of positive emotions"
This quote is from an article in The Messenger discussing why Nostalgia may be so important right now, David Newman, University of Southern California psychologist said, "It can cause a sense that life is meaningful, an optimism for the future and an enhanced sense of self-esteem."
He went on to say, “It allows you to feel as if you are with your loved ones in a safe and connected way. And looking back on those happy memories could be a good thing to do during quarantine.”
And this really stuck with me, so when I thought about what makes me nostalgic for #summer, a flood of memories came in from summers at the beach or the lake with my grandparents. Running around carefree, riding bikes, swimming. And what could be found in my hand most of the time? A freeze pop!
So after some discussions with fellow #mixologists in my company, we decided to give it a try and test out some recipes. It turns out it super fun and pretty easy once you get the hang of it. And that fact that we can translate high quality, craft #cocktails into these freeze pops was even more exciting.
So here are the five reasons...
They are delicious.
Freeze pops are fun as a vessels for imbibing.
These goodies are easy to take with you on the boat or poolside in a small cooler bag.
They are easy to make if you want to try it out yourselves.
You'll get that fun summer time nostalgia with every bite & sip!
